MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM: HEALING MINDS

At Release One Teach One, we recognize that successful reintegration into society is not just about finding a job or financial stability—it’s also about mental and emotional well-being. Many individuals coming out of incarceration face significant psychological challenges, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and the stress of reintegrating into society. Our Mental Health Program is designed to provide the care and support needed to address these challenges head-on.

Why Mental Health Matters

Mental health is a critical aspect of rehabilitation and reintegration. Without addressing the mental and emotional challenges that come with transitioning from incarceration to freedom, individuals are at a higher risk of recidivism. Our program is designed to provide the mental health support necessary to overcome these obstacles and foster long-term success and well-being.

Program Initiatives

1. Individual Counseling

  •  One-on-one therapy sessions with licensed professionals to help participants address trauma, stress, and other mental health issues stemming from incarceration and reintegration.

2. Group Therapy

  • Group sessions that provide a supportive community where individuals can share experiences, build connections, and learn from each other’s journeys.

3. Stress and Anger Management Workshops

  • Structured workshops that teach coping mechanisms for managing stress and anger, helping participants develop healthier responses to the challenges they face in everyday life.

4. Trauma-Informed Care

  • Specialized care for those who have experienced severe trauma, including violence, abuse, or neglect. Our professionals use trauma-informed techniques to create a safe and supportive environment for healing.

5. Substance Abuse Counseling

  • Many individuals leaving incarceration struggle with addiction. We offer support and counseling for those dealing with substance abuse, helping them build the skills they need for long-term recovery.

6. Mindfulness and Meditation

  • Techniques to help individuals focus on the present moment, reduce stress, and improve their emotional regulation. Our mindfulness sessions are designed to complement other therapeutic practices, offering holistic healing.
